About 450 city employees and activists in the community participated in the courses and in-service training. All educational institutions, from preschool to high school, participated in the environmental program.
In the future is planned a Municipal Environmental Unit and a conglomerate for regional water control; development of parks and green spaces appropriate to desert conditions; system for waste treatment and recycling, together with a station for employment of the handicapped and pensioners; bicycle paths; educational center with an emphasis on the environment and development of an ecological park.
